Anet A6 J-Hotend mod
cults3d
I wanted to integrate a Chinese J-hotend into my A6 Anet printer, which required me to design and build a new X-axis carriage from scratch. To achieve this, I had to carefully measure and plan the dimensions of the cooling fins and parts, which are 22.25mm in diameter and 26mm tall. Fortunately, most components such as the bearing, fan, extruder, and end-switch can be reused from my existing setup. However, since this modification is specifically designed for ABS printing, it may not be suitable for users who prefer to work with PLA, as there's no provision for a cooling fan in this configuration. To ensure successful print quality, I opted to print the new X-axis carriage using PET-G material. The STL file includes a cylindrical support feature that serves as a placeholder for the hotend during printing. Once the print is complete, you can easily remove the cylinder by breaking it out, which will allow you to seamlessly integrate the J-hotend into your printer setup.
