Anet A6 Hot-End /Xcar Mod 2019
cults3d
I decided to modify the Anet Hot End/X car because it was so affordable. The goal is to improve ABS, PET-G, and PLA printing capabilities. I relocated the Extruder to the back of the printer frame and connected it with a PTFE tube to the new X car/Hot end setup. The blue parts are not original components. This modification allows for tightening the X and Y timing belt on the printer. The parts required for the X axis are included, but those needed for the Y axis are not compatible with the original Anet design. The Hot End features an E3D Heat Break with a diameter of 22.5mm x 26mm. However, clones with diameters of 25mm can also fit. I fabricated the Heat Break out of aluminum and used the existing heater and heater block from the Anet Printer. For cooling the printed part, two Snail House Fans are utilized. One fan came with the Anet printer itself, while the other was purchased separately. Four different Fan-ducts are available for these fans, each with varying lengths. Please refer to the included Screen-Shot for more information on the Fan-ducts used in this example. The Extruder is a standard direct drive design. The PTFE tube coupler is screwed into a hole that's slightly too small, allowing it to create its own threads. I left the hole undersized so you can drill it out or tap the desired threads if needed. To assemble the Extruder, you'll need various parts from the Anet printer, including a Spring, Nema 17 motor, Filament driver gear and push bearing, M3x6mm bolt, two M3x18mm bolts, M3x20mm bolt with nut, M4x14mm bolt with nut, and M5x6mm bolt (for tensioning the spring). Additionally, you'll need a PTFE Tube (1Meter) and two couplers. For the X car & Hot End setup, you'll require an E3D Hot End or Clone, 30x30mm fan with Hot End bracket, Linear Bearings from the Anet printer, one Snail-House fan (either purchased separately or obtained from the Anet printer), three M3x10mm bolts with nuts, three M3x12mm bolts with nuts, four M4x20mm Bolts with nuts, and two M4x40mm Bolts with nuts. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. I appreciate your feedback and would like to ensure that all necessary parts are included in this modification.
