I own multiple Anets, and they are used primarily for ABS and PET-G printing due to their limited capabilities with PLA. They lack a fan to cool printed parts, and the heat break is sealed, preventing airflow from reaching ABS-printed objects. The extruder remains mounted on the X-carriage, making fast ABS printing unnecessary. Recently, I have been printing more with PLA due to its cost-effectiveness. My reason for creating this Hot End Mod was to make PLA printing possible again on the Anet A6. My goal is to minimize the weight of the X-carriage while adding cooling for PLA. To achieve this, I created a Bowden setup and installed two "snail house fans" on the X-carriage. I also removed the cable holder and connected the cables directly to the Teflon tube, which worked flawlessly. The extruder is now mounted above the controller, and I omitted the housing that once surrounded this printer. Printing PET-G with cooling requires careful consideration. Small or rounded objects work well, but large objects often warp due to inadequate cooling. For large prints that fill the entire bed, I still prefer my original Anet Hot End Mod for ABS printing. If you have questions or concerns about this project, please don't hesitate to ask. ******************************************************************* Parts List: 2x Teflon tube holder clips (3 or 4 mm) Teflon tube (3 or 4 mm) for 1.75mm filament Linear bearings (LM8UU) that came with the Anet A6 printer (2x) Extruder driver gear (also included with the Anet printer) Nema 17 as Extruder motor (also included with the Anet printer) Spring for the extruder (also included with the Anet printer) 2x snail house Fan 1X Hot end (heat break cooling fins diameter 22.5mm x 26mm) 1X heater block heater and thermistor (came with the Anet printer) 1X Filament pressure wheel for extruder (came with the Anet printer) 1X 30x30mm Fan and holder for Hot End 1X M4 hex key head x 6mm (came with the Anet printer) 2X M4x 45mm and nuts 5X M4x 20mm and 3 nuts 8X M3x 20mm and 5 nuts 4X M3x 10mm and 3 nuts 1X 80mm M3 treated rod and 6 nuts (I used 2 M3x 40mm bolts instead)
