Anet A6 Hot End Mod 2019

Yes, another Anet Hot End Mod. This Anet was only $150, but we all know those printers need some improvements. In this case, I wanted to make it for ABS, PET-G and PLA printing. The Extruder is now on the X-axis, connected with a PTFE tube to the new X-axis/Hot end setup. And yes, I made an all-metal Y-axis from scrap metal I had lying around. Now the printer is no longer so breakable. Also, it's possible to tighten the X and Y timing belt, and the parts for the X-axis are included. Not for the Y-axis because it doesn't work on an original Anet. But if someone still wants those files, I can include them. If so, please let me know. The Hot end E3D Heat Break dimensions are diameter 22.5mm x 26mm (but the Chinese clones with a Heat Break diameter of 25mm also fit). In this example, I made the Heat Break myself and used the heater and heater block that came with the Anet Printer. So yes, I didn't really use the E3D Hot End. I placed a piece of silicone backing mat between the Heater Block and the Heat Break as an heat insulator. This way, the heater block transfers less heat to the heat break. Also, the heater block is out of the air stream of the heat break cooling fan. For cooling the printed part, 2 Snail House Fans are used. One already came with the Anet printer itself. For these fans, there are four different lengths available. These are the four different lengths I needed for my printer. The different Hot Ends I use drove me to these four different lengths. Please see the included Screen-Shot with the photos. The ones I used for this setup are snail house fan duct 28.35mm L.stl & snail house fan duct 28.35mm R.stl shown in gray color on the Screen-Shot. The 4 M4 allen key bolts are screwed in and make their own threads. The Extruder is just a standard direct drive design. The PTFE tube coupler is screwed into a small hole. This way, it taps its own threads. I left the hole too small so you can drill it out to the direct diameter and/or tap the threads you need. I know the lever looks very ugly. See photos. But it's strong and working part and thus good for now. Parts for the Extruder: * Spring from Anet * Nema 17 motor from Anet * Filament driver gear and push bearing from Anet * M3x6mm from Anet * 2X M3x18mm from Anet * M3x20mm & nut from Anet * M4x14mm and nut from Anet * M5x6mm I had lying around (for tensioning the spring) * PTFE Tube (1Meter) and 2 couplers (Pneufit) I had to buy... Parts for the X-axis & Hot End setup: * E3D Hot End or Clone * 30x30mm fan and Hot End bracket * Linear Bearings from Anet * Snail-House fan from Anet and one I had to buy... * 3X M3x10mm & nuts from Anet * 3X M3x12mm & nuts from Anet * 4X M4x20mm Bolt & nuts from Anet * 2X M4x40mm Bolt & nuts I had lying around If you have questions, feel free to ask. Did I make a mistake or forget anything? Please comment.
