I designed a custom 40mm fan adapter to replace the standard 40mm extruder fan. This was necessary because I purchased a quieter 40x40x20mm fan to substitute for the noisy original one. The new fan's thickness made it impossible to simply swap out the old one, as one of the bolts securing the part fan on the carriage side stood in the way. An added lip at the top enhances support and stability since there are no mounting points at the top. The four mounting holes for the new fan are smaller than standard M3 bolts because mine came with self-tapping screws. To print this adapter, align the mounting flange with four holes on the heated bed; the lip is angled at 45° so it shouldn't require any support. For this model, the bolts to attach it to the extruder are M3x40, which differ from the original M3x45.
