###Anet A6 E3D Hemera Carriage This carriage design for the Anet A6 3D printer is suitable for both the E3D original Hemera and the shorter and lighter E3D Hemera XS extruder. The parts are added to equip the Hemera with the E3D Revo, V6, Volcano or SuperVolcano hotend, such as a straight or circular fanduct and BLTouch mounting options. A height difference of 4 mm between the nozzle and the fan duct/ BLTouch gives the possibility to clamp a glass print bed with simple binder clips without the lose of much buildspace. Only with the shortest V6 hotend there is a maximal clearance of 3.5 mm for print bed clamps due to the distance between the nozzle and the slide bearings. Four LM8UU linear bearings are used. Plastic Igus linear slide bearings with article number RJ4JP-01-08 are prefered for its lower weight and noise reducion. These bearings are pushed in the basic part where they will be locked in place. Like with the Anet extruder, the timing belt ends are looped trough the carriage and can be fixed with cable ties or with the added belt sleeves. The original X axis endstop micro limit switch (10T85) can be mounted. Also a genuine BLTouch bed leveling sensor can be mounted and there are spacers added to correct the BLTouch to nozzle distance for each hotend type. The finger-friendly pinch grip helps to open the extruder more comfortably for insertion and removal of filament. The added covers are an addition to the pinch grip design wich hide and protect the wiring behind the extruder motor. Also the clip can be used to hold wiring in place. The wiring to the printer can be fixed to the carriage with three cable ties. A braided sleeve can be used to bundle and protect the wiring without strain. ###Build Height The distance between the print bed and the middle frame is approx. 240 mm. This is the maximum build height of the Anet A6 with a full print bed reach. Due to this limitation, this is also the maximum build height with all hotends for this carriage, with the exception of the SuperVolcano heater block, which is limited to a build height of approx. 218 mm due to its larger length. To reach the maximum build height without collision, the LCD display must be removed due to the protruding control button and the left and right top frame plates replaced with the added ones. See my thing [Anet A6 Display Fill-in/ Cover](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5828130) to fill the holes in the middle frame when the display is removed. Next table gives the maximum build height approx. (mm) with the Anet LCD NOT removed: <html> <table border="1"> <table> <thead> <tr> <th></th> <td><b>Hemera without cover</b></td> <td><b>Hemera with cover</b></td> <td><b>Hemera XS without cover</b></td> <td><b>Hemera XS with cover</b></td> <td><b>Hemera XS with large cover</b></td> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td><b>⚠</b></td> <td>check wiring clearance and replace left top plate</td> <td></td> <td>check wiring clearance and replace left top plate</td> <td>replace left top plate</td> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>V6</b></th> <td>236</td> <td>203</td> <td>236</td> <td>236</td> <td>203</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>Revo</b></td> <td>233</td> <td>200</td> <td>233</td> <td>233</td> <td>200</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>Volcano</b></td> <td>227</td> <td>194</td> <td>227</td> <td>227</td> <td>194</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>SuperVolcano</b></td> <td>197</td> <td>164</td> <td>197</td> <td>197</td> <td>164</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </html> ###LED Lighting A small LED light strip can be placed into the carriage side part to light the nozzle. Combined with a circular fanduct printed in white or transparent, the light is better distributed. Use a separate 12v power supply for the LED light strip, because when connected to the printer power supply, the LED lights will flicker along with the on/off state of the nozzle and print bed heating. With a motor speed controller, the LED can be dimmed and turned off. It can be build into the left X-axis box of the printer. See my thing [Anet A6 Top mount LED light bar](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5816708) for the part. The white color 6000-6500K LED strip used was ordered [here](https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32809698796.html) ###Bolts and Nuts The Hemera extruder, pinch grip and covers are mounted with M3x10 countersunk bolts. ⚠ Caution, longer bolts will break the motor mounting points! T-Slots spacers can be printed, cut into seperate pieces and placed behind the square nuts to hold them in place. They can also help to screw-in the bolts more easily because the screw-in depth is limited. The basic part is mounted to the side part with four M3x12 bolts and M3 nuts The radial 5015 fan is mounted with two M3x25 countersunk bolts and M3 nuts The endstop switch is mouted with two M2.5x12 bolts and M2.5 nuts The BLTouch is mounted with M2.5 bolts, washers, nuts and the springs that came with the BLTouch: <html> <table border="1"> <table> <thead> <tr> <th></th> <td><b>bolt M2.5</b></td> <td><b>nut</b></td> <td><b>washer</b></td> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td><b>Revo</b></td> <td>2x 20 mm</td> <td>2x</td> <td>4x</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>V6</b></td> <td>2x 16 mm</td> <td>2x</td> <td>4x</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>Volcano</b></td> <td>2x 25 mm</td> <td>2x</td> <td>4x</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>SuperVolcano</b></td> <td>2x 16 mm & 2x 12mm</td> <td>4x</td> <td>4x</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </html> ###Print Settings All parts were printed with PETG filament and a 0.4 nozzle. 0.35 line width, and a 0.1 layer height setting was used. No print support is required. For the parts that require it, such as the straight fan duct, it is included in the design. Print the belt sleeve with some brim lines for better adhesion to the print bed. Other part specific print settings: <html> <table border="1"> <table> <thead> <tr> <th></th> <td><b>wall line count</b></td> <td><b>infill</b></td> <td><b>infill type</b></td> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td><b>carriage basic part</b></td> <td>5</td> <td>30%</td> <td>grid</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>carriage side part</b></td> <td>4</td> <td>30%</td> <td>grid</td> </tr> <tr> <td><b>fanducts</b></td> <td>2</td> <td>100%</td> <td>zigzag</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </html>
