Anet A6, Detachable Throat Fan
thingiverse
I was fed up with disassembling the entire grill-fan-sink-motor-block just to troubleshoot issues with feeding the filament into the throat. I came up with a plate that cradles the fan (secured by 2x M3 screws, 20-25 mm long) and snaps onto sleeves* attached to the screws holding the motor in place. A hole in the plate allows cool air to circulate around the block containing the throat without blowing dust onto the filament. You'll need to swap out the original screws for some M3 x 25 mm ones. I highly recommend printing this in PETG, as PLA might be too brittle for the snapping mechanism and lacks resistance against high temperatures. **WARNING:** I make no promises that the block will get enough cooling. Use at your own risk. *) Please let me know what word you think fits best.
