Anet A6 Auto Bed Level Probe and Fan Mount Upgrade
thingiverse
Mount a standard 12mm inductive probe, enabling Auto Bed Level on the Anet A6. Benefits: * Direct replacement for kit acrylic mount plate. * No need to modify x-carriage end stop. * Close to extruder tip for better probing and avoid reducing print area. * Stable and stiff probe mount. Use a standard 12mm inductive proximity probe like the LJ12A3-4-Z/BX. You can find it on eBay by searching for LJ12A3-4-Z%2FBX. Most probes rated for 6 - 36V supply can run on 5V, but be aware that this voltage is too low and can result in unreliably distance measuring. I recommend supplying the probe with 12V from the power supply. The suggested probe is NPN (open collector) type output, which means it will not output any voltage but connect to 0V (GND) when activated. It's safe to connect directly to Z-min input on the Arduino without additional electronics. You must activate the internal pull-up resistor on the input pin to read the signal from the probe correctly. For more information, consult many guides found online. To assemble the probe, you'll need an M3 12mm bolt and an M3 nut to hold it in position. Reuse other bolts and screws from the kit. The initial probe height is approximately 1mm above the extruder tip. You must adjust the firmware to enable auto bed leveling and specify probe offset from the extruder tip (X offset = -28mm, Y offset = 22mm) or (X offset = -28mm, Y offset = 19mm) for centered. Update: On December 10, 2017, I added a model that centers the fan to the nozzle (filename with center) and more space for the fan notch.
