My trusty hotbed connector gave up the ghost, leaving my printer crippled with a thermal runaway error. The moment I soldered the wires directly onto the bed, I knew something had to shift the stress point away from those delicate solder joints. ## What You'll Need * 1 x M4 20mm Screw * 1 x M4 Nut * A new carriage is highly likely, as this won't attach to standard H brackets ## Assembly First, I purchased a different carriage that really impressed me - the Gulfcoast Robotics Aluminum Carriage Upgrade. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it after experiencing problems with my original H bracket. Pressing the M4 Nut into place using channel locks or pliers is crucial, as it fits deeper into the block. To secure it firmly, attach a screw to the nut and use channel locks to push it down all the way. Flip your printer over or remove the carriage, then insert a 20mm screw into the empty center hole of the new carriage and tighten it securely. Once the hotbed is back online, loop a zip-tie through the rear section to keep the wires in place.
