Anet A4 Rods Improvement
thingiverse
I've found it extremely challenging to utilize the full 200mm bed diameter on my printer, even after a failed attempt at upgrading the firmware with Marlin 1.1.8 and then fine-tuning the geometric sizes in EEPROM. A mechanical limitation was observed on the ball joints of my original printer during these attempts. Consequently, I decided to replace the rods with magnetic ones. This STL kit is specifically designed to improve Anet A4's original rods with magnetic ones. The magnetic rods were sourced from banggood.com: 200MM 4x6 MM Diagonal Push Rod L200 With Magnetic Ball Joint And Steel Ball For Kossel 3D Printer & Supplies from Electronics on banggood.com (https://banggood.app.link/oSSrBrNJT3). The magnets from the rods kit were then tightly fitted onto 3D printed auto-centered adapter parts, which included A4_Axis_Ball_Joint_Improv_Adapter_R1.stl and A4_Print_Plate_Improv_Adapter_R1.stl. The adapters were then secured with the original bolts. A recommended practice when assembling the magnets at A4_Print_Plate_Improv_Adapter_R1.stl is to pair adjacent magnets with inverse polarity, allowing their magnetic fields to cooperate and promote better adhesion of the ball joints. The magnetic rods turned out shorter than the originally supplied ones. As a result, after installing these new mechanical parts, I needed to fine-tune the EEPROM settings once again. The final sizes that achieved satisfactory bed leveling over the 200mm diameter bed were: Delta_Diagonal_Rod = 209 mm Delta_Radius = 102.47 mm
