Anemometer System
thingiverse
This is my homemade anemometer that helped me out during hurricane Irma. What this thingamajig is supposed to do is turn the shaft of a small electric motor into voltage on the other side, which can then be tracked by a voltmeter or micro controller like an Arduino Uno. It's designed to fit most small motors and work with various size shafts. This design is super compact and lightweight, making it easy to stash inside your bag. A vane could also be added if you want to get fancy, and the better quality motor you've got, the more accurate your readings will be. I've tossed together a couple of draft options for you to use as inspiration to make your own. I'm excited to see what other people create from my ideas - please share your project with me!
