Anemometer for Arduino
thingiverse
This is a DIY Anemometer for Arduino enthusiasts. The bottom and top parts of the device are cleverly joined together by a ball-bearing. Inside the bottom section lies a reed contact, while a magnet resides in the top part. With an Arduino board on hand, you can easily measure the time gap between two consecutive peaks triggered by the reed contact. By analyzing this data, you'll be able to calculate the wind speed with precision.
