Anemometer Cups

This project was undertaken to repair a malfunctioning anemometer cup of a Maplin WH1081 weather station, which is also known by other names such as Watson W-8681, Elecsa AstroTouch 6975, Sparkfun SEN-08942 or ClimeMET CM2000 among several others. The plastic on the existing anemometer had become severely hardened over time and it was decided to print a new set of cups along with the hub instead of attempting to create a repair part for the cup. It is feasible to print the Wind Cups without support, requiring great care. The parts were printed using ABS, but PETG may be a better option. PLA can also be used, although it might not last as long in the long term, and new ones could be easily printed if needed. The hub has been designed to accommodate the existing 4mm cylindrical magnet and to fit snugly on the 10mm bearing of the anemometer body. The hub was made slightly larger in diameter to compensate for the thicker skirt at the bottom that prevents water and dirt from entering. It appears to be working correctly, but a bit more height could have been added to the skirt without causing any issues with the anemometer body.
