Android Robot - Custom Text & Movable
prusaprinters
This is a remix from a print on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:126671). For the original model I after a few test prints I saw that most of the dimensions were incorrect or too loose. Also the text was best suited for long sentences, not short words/names. WHAT ARE THE ROBOTS FEATURES?Detachable and rotatable headMovable arms (spin around the X - axis)Custom text on one side, hexagon-grid on the other side (can be used as a display case).Robot can be removed from its base! EDITS MADE FROM ORIGINAL MODELHead has a tighter fit w/ a shorter base height.Arms holes have been increased in diameter.Added a hexagon grid pattern on the back side, reduces weight and allows you to put a trinket inside (like a small display cage)!Edited the font/text placement settings to be better suited for short phrases/nounsBetter tolerances/dimensions for the legsBetter tolerances/dimensions for the base, some height changes WHATS IN THE FILES?STLsAndroidPreviewAssembled.stl - Shows what a COMPLETE model looks like. This is NOT PRINTABLE. Head.stl - Contains the Android headArm.stl - Contains a SINGLE Android arm (you will need to print two).Body.stl - Contains a pre-configured Android body (text = “Android OS”)Leg.stl - Contains a SINGLE Android leg (you will need to print two).Base.stl - Contains the base for where Android may be plugged intoGCODE - Some pre-made files are given which allow you to bulk print in batches! ALL gcode files are currently exported using PrusaSlicer w/ settings for the Prusa MK3S+. EASIEST WAY TO PRINTPrint out the file called “FullKit”. It contains the following:1 Head1 Base2 Arms2 LegsPrint out the “Body”.When attaching the arms, you will need to use a knife or some sandpaper to slightly increase the hole diameter. I did not increase it in the scad file directly because it was too loose. A few circles with a file/sandpaper/knife edge will do the trick.
