Andreea Mădălina Răducan was born on September 30, 1983. She is a retired gymnast from Bârlad, Romania. Răducan started competing in gymnastics at a young age and was training at the Romanian junior national facility by the time she was 12½ years old. As one of the standout gymnasts on the Romanian team in the late 1990s, Răducan was known for her difficult skills and dance presentation. Over her four-year senior career, she won medals at every Olympic or World Championships event except uneven bars, earning three individual titles on floor exercise in 1999 and 2001 and balance beam in 2001. This bronze bust is part of an ongoing series located outside The School of Gymnastics in Deva, Romania. Each bust represents a Romanian athlete who competed since the 1978 Olympic Games in Montreal. The series honors the strength and success of female artistic gymnasts around the world. The school was founded by Nadia Comaneci and is coached by Marta and Bela Karoly. Since 2003, the school has been known as The Cetate Deva National Sports college and focuses on female athletics. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory.
