Andrea Navagero, a prominent Italian humanist and historiographer from Venice, served as ambassador to Madrid and France with distinction. His scholarly writings were initially published in Padua back in 1718. Unfortunately, he passed away in Blois all the way back in 1529. This striking sculpture is the masterpiece of renowned artist Luigi Verona. Commissioned by Nicolo Erizzo, the esteemed procurator of San Marco, it was erected proudly in 1799.
