The CT scan of an Andean condor skull (Vultur gryphus, USNM 346633) was conducted on Ohio University's MicroCT scanner as part of a doctoral research project led by JP Nassif of WitmerLab. The scanned skull was meticulously segmented in Amira software by visiting student Seishiro Tada from the University of Tokyo. The microCT scan data, along with a 3D model of the condor skull and brain endocast, are available for download on MorphoSource (http://bit.ly/2WWoLhW). This collaborative research effort was undertaken in partnership with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History's Division of Birds and received funding from the National Science Foundation.
