sketchfab
The skull of an Andean condor (Vultur gryphus, USNM 346633) was CT scanned on the Ohio University MicroCT scanner (OUµCT) as part of the doctoral research of WitmerLab student JP Nassif. The skull, brain endocast, and other structures were segmented in Amira by visiting University of Tokyo student Seishiro Tada. The microCT scan data, a skull STL, and a brain endocast STL can be downloaded on MorphoSource (http://bit.ly/2WWoLhW). A movie of this skull and brain endocast—with brain structures labeled—is on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/Pci4J7OTgOg. This work was done in partnership with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Division of Birds and was funded by the National Science Foundation.
