Ancient Scarabs

In ancient Egyptian spirituality, Ra, the sun god, moves majestically across the sky each day, reshaping bodies and reviving souls. As for beetles belonging to the Scarabaeidae family (dung beetle), they gather dung into a ball as sustenance and as a nursery where they lay their eggs; this way, when the larvae emerge, they are instantly surrounded by food. Due to these reasons, the scarab was perceived as a representation of this celestial cycle and of the concept of rebirth or regeneration.
