Ancient Egyptian Mummy - Sword
thingiverse
This is a custom sword I designed and printed for my child's mummy costume. The sword was inspired by concept art from https://www.artstation.com/artwork/tomb-king-weapons, which I modified to fit my kid's preferences. I created the model in Maya and refined it in Zbrush. To add strength, I split the sword into two halves, each halved again into three pieces, and inserted a channel for a bent M4 threaded rod. The parts were glued together using epoxy and painted with gold and acrylic paints. I printed the sword on my Prusa i3 MK2 3D printer at 0.35mm layer thickness to achieve faster print times. While I could have printed it at a lower resolution for greater detail, I intentionally used this layer thickness to create an etched effect. In addition to the sword, I also designed and printed various costume accessories, including arm guards, shin guards, belt pieces, and skull decorations for the necklace - if anyone is interested, I can share those designs as well.
