Ancient Egyptian Game: Senet
prusaprinters

The modern day rules to this game are entirely speculative - and some day we may discover the hidden rulebook to how it was actually played during its time more than 3000 years ago. Until then, we'll just have to settle for tinkering with these little replicas and continue to reverse engineer this once-ubiquitous game.

On that note, has anyone ever taken a 3D scanner to most of the known 80-something boards that have survived and checked for 'wear spots' on the spaces to figure out which ones were most often occupied by pieces during gameplay? I'll bet it'd shed more light on our current interpretation on how the game was played. Couldn't find anything on the web that showed that kind of research. Anyways, just a thought.

If you found this useful, please share your work and be sure to peruse my other submissions which are almost as varied as they are many:

http://www.thingiverse.com/3E8/designs

Enjoy!
Category: Games
