The new version of Max was unleashed, dubbed 3ds Max 2014, as if it was meant to rule all the modeling programs out there. It brought several exciting features along for the ride including, but not limited to a more improved viewport and a host of various updates for better graphics handling and display performance, a much awaited boost indeed. Among these improvements lies one called "Pivot Gizmo" allowing users to adjust view orientation without altering pivot positions on objects. It truly seems to have transformed the modeling world once again and as one may expect this new Max has taken it's rightful place as an ultimate software solution for architectural visualization, 3D rendering and other industries that require precision in digital designs. It has already managed to surpass its competitors in so many ways like giving out greater performance in high-res and super high-def models; a feat of which even its most dedicated users would say no one else can touch, including, naturally enough Autodesk Inventor as well. The new look has brought back the charm which once used to define it years ago making 3D max indeed an icon.
