Anchyrrohée or Terpsichore at The Louvre, Paris
myminifactory
Despite its breathtaking beauty, very little is known about the origins and history of this magnificent sculpture. The life-sized masterpiece, meticulously carved from a single block of marble, was likely created in the 1400s during the same era as Michelangelo's iconic works and the dawn of the Renaissance. It portrays a female figure, purportedly a hardworking laborer and possibly an identical representation to Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres's 'The Source', cradling a jug over her shoulder with the intricate folds of her dress delicately grasped between the fingers of her right hand. This incredible piece is currently on display at the world-renowned Louvre Museum in Paris, France. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", an innovative non-profit initiative spearheaded by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost.
