Anchor Hocking (or Pyrex) replacement lids
thingiverse
Anchor Hocking produces excellent glass storage containers, available in one cup, two cups, and four cups sizes. Pyrex also carries the same products. However, a major issue arises when lids wear out and need to be replaced. You can find replacement lids for about $2.25 each online, although this is not excessively costly, it's enough of an inconvenience that I decided to create my own replacement lids that I could print whenever needed. Initially, I attempted printing the lids with PETG due to its slightly greater flexibility compared to PLA. Unfortunately, PETG was not flexible enough for the task and these lids didn't function as well as the originals. Subsequently, I tried Sainsmart TPU, which resulted in excellent prints. The lids turned out very flexible and fit quite well. You can achieve similar results by searching online for printing with TPU. My wife recommended that the 150mm (four-cup) container needed a deeper lid, so that's what version v5 features. I haven't printed it yet because I ran out of TPU, but I'm fairly certain it will be satisfactory. As with any food-contacting three-dimensional printed object, it should be coated with a food-safe coating.
