In this example, ANSYS will be used to analyze the stresses and deflections in the vessels walls due to the internal pressure. Since the vessel is axially symmetric about its central axis. Axisymmetric analysis will be performed using 8-node quadrilateral element with the axisymmetric option activated. In addition, the vessel is symmetric about plane through the center of the cylinder. Thus, only a quarter section of the vessel needs to be modeled.
