Analog heated bed v0.1
thingiverse
This individual shares a DIY method for creating an analog heated bed for a 3D printer, like the Ultimaker, using candles as a heat source. The aluminum plate is placed on top of the lit candle(s), with the number and type of candles determining the temperature reached. A Z-stage hole holds the candle, while kapton tape secures the aluminum sheet. After lighting the candle(s) and waiting for the platform to heat up, 3D printing can begin. The author suggests improvements such as a thicker, brass plate, a glass sheet with oil lubrication, and shares a video for further reference.
