Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber
thingiverse
Inspired by this model by CaseStudyno8: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1538383, I attempted to upload this as a remix but for whatever reason, his model wasn't showing up. Designed specifically for a project a friend and I are working on, we intend to use some 25mm (or 1 inch) frosted acrylic tube as the blade and put an LED strip with a controller and batteries inside to make it light up and change colors and effects. **IMPORTANT** There are two versions of the saber included. If you plan to attach a blade and actually swing it, then you want to print the files under the 'one piece' folder; however, you will need a 300mm tall printer. If you have a smaller printer or just want a purely cosmetic prop (in all likelihood it'll break if you try to swing it), then you should use the files under the 'multi piece' folder. You might be able to get away with printing the multi-piece parts in PETG or some similar engineering-grade plastic without it breaking, but I haven't tested this. For either version, you will need to print everything in the accessories tab and the thread test. Do the thread test first to see how tight the threads print on your printer, and if needed, you can adjust the clearance on the model in CAD. By default, there's a 0.1mm offset using a press pull on all the faces of one end of the thread; to adjust it simply alter this value. There are three holes in the midsection to cross-drill and pin (or bolt) the blade in so it doesn't fly out then end. You will want to make sure they are flush with the surface since these are covered up by the on-off button. Both the STLs and the Fusion 360 files are provided in case you want to modify the design.
With this file you will be able to print Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber.
