Anacreon
myminifactory
Anacreon, a renowned ancient Greek lyric poet who penned verse in the Ionic dialect, has left behind only fragments of his work. The edition of Anacreon's poetry that reached later generations was probably compiled by Aristarchus in Alexandria during the 2nd century BCE and categorized into 9 or 10 books based on metrical criteria. This masterpiece is showcased at the Museum für Abgüsse Klassischer Bildwerke in Munich, a museum specializing in classical paintings and sculpture featuring sculptures of Greek and Roman antiquity from the 7th century BC to the 5th century AD.
