Over the course of this winter, my Hoselock quick release coupling inexplicably broke without warning. I had planned to purchase a new one but when I saw the price tag was a whole five dollars, I thought to myself, "Not on your life, Mr. Hoselock." As a result, I've used approximately a five-dollar's worth of plastic and invested about twenty hours of R&D time to produce my own leaky yet functional coupling. Worth it? That's still undecided. Whatever the case may be, it gets the job done. I have included a couple of 3/4" BSP test threads for your reference. I've discovered that they only screw together smoothly if the thread is in good condition; otherwise, there's no hope. However, they do attach perfectly to a properly formed thread that wasn't printed, which is why I've reused the green nut from my busted coupling. This is the first time I've attempted to print a thread, so please be patient. I've also included some STEP files and the original Inventor files as STLs are utterly pointless in my opinion. Print Settings: Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100 Notes: I used three perimeters and three solid top and bottom layers; it might leak less if you make it solid throughout. A raft is a must because there's virtually no contact area. Post-Printing: You may want to take some action to smooth out the inside of the main body so that the O-ring on the male part has a chance to seal properly. I opted for a delightful shade of khaki Humbrol gloss paint and applied it liberally around the inside. Handle with care, as all the prongy bits tend to break off at the slightest provocation.
