An alternative catapult hook for the Buratinu
prusaprinters
This is an alternative to the original catapult start hook of the Buratinu model airplane designed by wersy (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3047415). I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of fixing the hook using epoxy resin without a counter support - especially since I printed the model in PETG which does not stick to epoxy quite well. This variant fixes the hook solely by the use of screw fittings, distributing mechanical stress to a wide area of the fuselage, and can be made using any kind of filament. The hook base is available in two versions: The "long" version distributes mechanical stress to a slightly wider area but cannot be used with airscrews bigger than 11" since the airscrew's tip can touch the base's front screw. The "short" version can be used with airscrews up to 12" in diameter.I recommend printing all the parts at once (two of them are very small and might otherwise get too hot while printing). The hook base needs to be printed using support for the nut cavities. After printing the supports can easily be pushed out with a screwdriver or drill through the screwholes.Additional hardware needed:Two M3 screwsTwo M3 nutsTwo washers 3.2 mm (recommended)2 mm steel wire (I recommend stainless steel)Category: R/C Vehicles
