Do You Have LCD Screens You No Longer Need? Here's A Project To Help You Recycle Them. The Hologram Technology Used Is Based On An Optical Effect Called Pepper's Ghost: The Reflection Of A Screen In Glass Creates The Illusion That The Object Appears Behind. For This Project, I Suspend A Screen Above A Transparent Pyramid To Give Shape To The Reflected Images That Aren't Visible To The Viewer. This Box Generator Is Designed For Screens Ranging From Small Tablets To Large PC Monitors. It's Based On A Square Base And Can Accommodate Slabs In 4/3 Format Without Limitations, Including 16 / 9th Ratio. I've Created A Vector File That Can Be Used With A Laser Cutter, Which Is Commonly Found In Fablabs. The Box Can Be Made From Medium-Density Fiberboard Or Plywood. The Support Columns Between The Lower Box And The Screen Case Can Be Made Of Transparent Acrylic (Plexiglas) To Avoid Interfering With Vision. I Haven't Been Able To Find A Suitable Product Reference For The Pyramid Material Yet. Initially, I Used Acrylic Coated With Solar Film Tinted For Car Windows, But It Didn't Work Out. Later, I Used A Pyramid From A Tablet Kit, And The Result Was Perfect. However, I Still Can't Find An Equivalent Material On The Market That Can Be Cut To The Dimensions Of My Screen Using The Generator. As I Use A French Version Of The GPL, I'm Unable To Upload My Files On Thingiverse (Except For 2d_sony.scad.svg As An Example).
