This is a statue of Amy Winehouse. Amy Winehouse, a British singer and songwriter from 1983 until her death in 2011, had become deeply connected with Camden Town. She died at her home on Camden Square due to alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011. The statue shows Winehouse standing with her hand resting on her hip, wearing high heels, and sporting her signature beehive hairstyle. Her singer's statue also wears a Star of David necklace and had a real red rose in her hair on the day of the unveiling. British sculptor Scott Eaton created the charcoal grey work that was designed to convey Winehouse's attitude and strength while subtly hinting at insecurity. Scott Eaton secured the commission after showing his ideas to Amy Winehouse's father. The sculpture was not intended to replicate a particular picture or outfit but rather capture an amalgamation of her appearances. Eaton drew attention to the position of her arms, where one hand rests on her hip and the other holds the edge of her skirt. Details like this and the way the figure's foot turns inwards give the statue a personality.
