AMX International AMX

AMX International AMX Ground attack aircraft produced by Italy and Brazil, launched in the 80s. Italy initiated a study in 1977 to replace their G.91 fleet, while Brazil joined the project in 1981 due to their need for a replacement for the Aermacchi MB326. The joint venture formed AMX International, comprising Embraer, Aermacchi, and Aeritalia; around 200 aircraft were manufactured from 1986 to 1999. The two variants differ mainly in avionics and fixed armament. The Italian AMX A-11 Ghibli (136 built) features a 20mm M-61 Vulcan on the left side, whereas the Brazilian A-1 (56 built) is equipped with two Defa 30mm cannons. Both variants are modeled in single-seat configuration at a scale of 1:100. Print tests were conducted at 1:285 using a 0.2mm nozzle, but they can also be printed with a 0.4mm nozzle and at a 1:300 scale, using 0.12 mm layers. The aircraft was printed on an Ender3, as shown in the image taken from PrusaSlicer 2.0. To preserve the tail and nose details, I opted for the two-part version; after sanding the glued joint is barely visible and nearly undetectable once painted. Best regards, Erik
