Amstrad Plus Gotek adapter

Amstrad Plus Gotek adapter

thingiverse

This is an adapter for the Gotek USB floppy emulator that can be used with the Amstrad 6128 Plus. It allows users to read DSK images directly using alternative firmware found on GitHub: https://github.com/keirf/FlashFloppy. The images show how hot glue was used to secure all components in place, but this is not necessary. The latest version includes stabilizers on the front panel that were added after noticing it would deform when pressing the rotary encoder button. It's worth noting that soldering cables directly to the rotary encoder is recommended due to limited space - using a rotary encoder without a wiring board is preferred if possible. The adapter was printed with the front panel facing down, resulting in a flat surface thanks to the use of a glass plate. The STL file and FreeCAD source files are available for download. If users decide to redesign the adapter, they're encouraged to share their changes here. Update (2019-08-17): Additional stabilizers were added to the front panel by incorporating two side walls into the design.
