Updated as a single piece print for 32mm, 36mm and 60mm spools found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:615857 I am excited to share Amsterdamman's Large 1kg Filament Spool with 8mm bearing ends that I created for use with 1kg filament spools from http://www.3Dprima.com. This ingenious spool holder utilizes the bearing cup ends listed here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:467911 and will be seamlessly integrated into a free standing filament holder soon. Constructed with sturdy M8 or 8mm bolts, washers, nuts, and bearings, it provides incredibly smooth rotation and leaves those wooden spoon handles in the dust! My feedback on this project? It works remarkably better than I had ever envisioned! The spool rotates so effortlessly that I had to flip the direction of the filament from "over the top" to "from the back", resulting in a consistent, gentle tension on the filament feed that seems to be the perfect method.
