Amsterdamman's 2mm lowered nozzle mount for Ormerod
thingiverse
This is my redesigned rermix of the Ormerod1 or Ormerod2 nozzle mount, with a 2mm lowering of the mount to effectively lift the sensor up by that amount relative to the nozzle. Following several X-carriage crashes while trying to bridge prints, I would have eventually figured out how to perfect the print so it wouldn't be marred by unsightly bridging - but first things first, I aimed to minimize collision risks as long as the print was still satisfactory for my goals. It's worth noting that this accident ruined the print. Another plus of this redesign is a lower Z-height when the sensor detects height levels between 500-700, prompting me to use a revised home point Z-height setting at 0.5, which in effect elevates the sensor to a total of 2.5mm above the bed level. As it stands, my current config.g file for probe settings reads: G31 Z0.5 P570
