AMScope LED light converter
thingiverse
This is a little LED illuminator for microscopes. In particular the AMScope T490B which it has been tested on, though it should work on any microscope with a similar light diffuser shape. If you want to try some bright white LED light in your incandescent AMScope this is the project for you! The cool white light of the LED and high brightness gives a crisp image through the eye pieces. Note that the light is mostly normal to the lens, so acts as if the 'scopes diaphragm is quite closed. It uses a USB powered fibre optic illuminator, which can be run from a power-bank, or a USB wall plug. It's customiseable to tweak your own version to perfection! (The selotape on mine around the LED illuminator is because I'm paranoid I'll eventually snap the wire so I added it as a way to protect the wire from bending too much.)
