Amphibious Char - Submarine Tank
cults3d
Inspired by a vintage 1946 Jo and Zette comic book, the "Manitoba" amphibious tank suddenly comes to life, allowing Jo Zette and Jocko to escape from the underwater lair of the deranged scientist. Before moving forward, take a moment to examine the "exploded" image of the vehicle, which will give you a clear understanding of its intricate assembly. This decorative object requires a bit of finesse to bring it to life. After printing, I recommend spraying a coat of grey primer, then sanding and repeating the process until you achieve the desired finish. Next, apply a layer of MARLY CATERPILLAR colour (Aerosol) and let it dry completely. Cut out the windows from a transparent plastic sheet and glue them in place using model or wood glue - no cyanoacrylate needed! Paint the accessories and tracks (GUNZE) separately to ensure a precise finish. Once complete, assemble the accessories together, taking care not to strip any threads. The turret can be screwed in for added stability. Glue the entire vehicle together, using custom reinforcement if necessary. I personally found it helpful to insert two copper pieces into the 2 holes on the face of the body to secure the front and back panels. For the barrel, a piece of ALU tube or similar material will need to be glued into the turret (part not possible to print). As you assemble the vehicle, take note that the tracks have intentional clearance - this will disappear after primer and painting. The version depicted in the photo has undergone some tweaks, including widening the strapping on the body to match the original design. The front lamp has been drilled out to accommodate a half Yellow bead and an aluminium chip, and a yellow LED can be installed for added realism. The rear body features a separate door for easier printing - simply glue it in place or use a small hinge. If you're feeling adventurous, try printing the rear body with the integrated door! Parts 6-12 are not essential to the build, as they represent the interior equipment.
