AMP TE Superseal 1.0 34 Way Backshell
thingiverse
Here's my back shell for the AMP/TE Superseal 1.0 34 way connector that is commonly used by performance ECU manufacturers. There are two models available: one designed to accept a 222K163 Raychem boot, and another for regular heat shrink use. The hole in the uploaded design measures 10mm, but it can be easily increased if needed - just let me know about other sizes you'd like to see. My main concern with this design is how it will handle splices; I'll have a better understanding of that once I build my car's loom and adapt accordingly. As for the model that accepts Raychem boots, I understand your reservations. Indeed, when trying to recover a boot over it, the part will likely melt - I've tried it myself, and just as the boot fully recovered, the part melted. Perhaps with more patience, it might have worked better? I printed my back shell with ABS; although I don't yet have access to Nylon printing capabilities, I suspect it would work well in that material. Meanwhile, a regular piece of adhesive-lined heat shrink recovered without causing any deformation. If you're looking for a backshell with no trouble recovering Raychem boots, check out the one I used as inspiration here: https://racespeconline.com/products/racegrade-amp-backshells When printing this part, be sure to rotate it to print bottom up.
