Among Us is an online multiplayer social deduction game developed and published by American game studio InnerSloth, released on June 15, 2018. Players join a space-themed setting where they take on one of two roles: most are Crewmates, while a few are Impostors. The goal for Crewmates is to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; meanwhile, Impostors aim to sabotage and kill Crewmates before all tasks are finished. Players suspected of being Impostors can be eliminated through a vote by a majority, which any player can initiate at any time. The Crewmates win if all Impostors are eliminated or all tasks are completed, while Impostors win if there's an equal number of Impostors and Crewmates, or if a critical sabotage is not resolved. Initially released in 2018 with little attention, Among Us gained massive popularity in 2020 due to well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it. In response, InnerSloth announced Among Us 2 in August 2020, but canceled the sequel just a month later, choosing instead to improve the original game.
