I had a brilliant idea a few years back to build an automated feeder for my beloved guinea pigs. Unfortunately, I kept putting off this project due to lack of time. However, I've finally got the time and decided to bring it to life. As a huge steampunk enthusiast, I thought it would be fantastic to design a machine with that unique style. The feeder is incredibly versatile and can be easily installed on almost any cage with vertical or horizontal bars. What's more, it's programmable, ensuring your furry friends get the right number of meals throughout the day. The portions can be adjusted via software or by simply changing the spiral. I highly recommend printing all the parts using PLA, as it's a safer option compared to ABS. Additionally, make sure not to use any toxic paint, as it could contaminate your guinea pigs' food. To build this fantastic device, you'll need some extra materials: * 1 x 360° servo motor (capable of full rotation) * 1 x Arduino Lilypad * 1 x 5mm LED light (red, but feel free to choose other colors) * 3 x M4 screws, 25mm long * 1 x M3 plastic screw, 10mm long * 1 x cellphone wall charger and USB cable (if you have one with a broken cell phone plug, that's even better!) * 2 x 6mm rubber pipes (long enough to connect the tower with the core) * 1 x piece of paper for the clock face * Some small wires to connect all the electronic components * Some glue to hold everything together To print the parts, use the following settings on your BQ Witbox: * Layer thickness: 200 micron * Printing speed: 60 mm/s * Supports everywhere
