Asteroceras obtusum, a prized specimen from Lyme Regis, now proudly housed by the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution in the UK. This exceptional fossil is an internal mold of an ammonite's shell, showcasing its intricate, wavy lines as the remnants of internal chambers known as septa. As the ammonite navigated through the water column, it expelled water from these shell compartments to ascend or descend with ease.
