This is something to fill a personal need, thought it might be useful to others. It's a 100 count ammo box for .308 / 7.62mm rounds. I wasn't able to find such a thing online that wasn't a flimsy piece of junk and I wanted a single 100 round box rather than two fifty-round boxes. It's got just a little room to spare when using 178gr Amax's which are a pretty long bullet. Anything larger will have issues, but smaller bullets will be fine as the base walls are high enough to prevent anything from wobbling out of their hole unlike most commercial boxes. These are "expensive" in terms of filament. Make sure you have enough on your spool to finish them; the base especially is a little under one quarter of a standard 1 kilo spool. I designed notches in it, but they're fairly useless - too minimal really. Print Settings Printer: MendelMax 3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .25 - .3 Infill: 30% Notes: I went with three perimeters and thirty percent infill for strength purposes. Post-Printing The fit is intentionally tight, so you will very likely need to sand the sides of the bottom to get the fit you want. It needs to be tight enough to keep the lid in place but loose enough that you can get it off. For me with my printer, it just took a very light hit on all four sides with a file and on the corners to get the fit I wanted. How I Designed This I designed this in Studio Max then printed in small subsections to get the size of the squares, the height of everything and the overall fit correctly.
