AmiPi Raspberry Case

AmiPi Raspberry Case

As an avid fan, I wanted to infuse my Raspberry with an unmistakable Amiga flair. My current plan is to craft a sleek platform paired with 2 Speedlink USB joysticks and play Amiga games with my kids. However, I'm also seriously contemplating an AROS native setup that will be a topic for another side project. Regarding the design itself: The front face takes its inspiration from my cherished (and now dearly departed) Amiga 4000. SD cards can be easily swapped out through the provided opening. A slot to embed a momentary button to trigger a soft RPi shutdown is also incorporated, held by a small extrusion within the case. The lid latches securely to the main body with magnets; a small recess on the back makes it easy to remove the lid. The Amiga logo has been engraved onto the lid, but I'm also providing an AROS version. The case is spacious enough to accommodate the RPi3B+ (or RPi4B) and offers room for additional electronics (e.g., hats, fans). It's designed to utilize short HDMI and microUSB extender cables to bring connectors to the rear. Ventilation is provided by a grid at the bottom and openings on the lid. The bottom also features 4 slots for rubber feet that I suggest printing in flexible filament. Lastly, the back panel can be swapped out to support different Raspberry connector configurations. I would have already released the RPi 4 model, but I'm waiting for the reference design to precisely position the new ports. _NOTE: there's also a small badge to mimic the one usually included with every Amiga; I still need help figuring out what to put there. What about a small OLED display hole? For what purpose?_
