Amiibo Coins
thingiverse
My little boy has been driving me crazy since Christmas, begging for Amiibos for Zelda. I decided to surprise him by making some custom ones myself. I created them using a 3D printer and designed them to be around 50mm x 50mm in size, with a thickness of about 5mm. I used NFC NTAG215s tags, which I purchased from Amazon for £10 for 20 tags. I also found the Amiibo dump files by searching Google. I printed the Amiibos using dual printing and Cura's tool for pausing at height. To pause the print at specific heights, I set two pauses: one at a height of 1.5mm to install the NFC tag, and another at 3.3mm to change the filament color. To keep the NFC tag safe, I created a cavity inside each Amiibo to hold it in place. Although the tags come with adhesive pads, I wanted to prevent them from falling off or being picked off again! I've included the files: STL and GCODE. There will be more coins to come!
