I stumbled upon an amazing subreddit where people create custom amiibos, so I thought I'd give it a try myself. I bought a 20-pack of Tag NFC stickers and ripped one off mine. Soon after, I wrote to a sticker, and guess what? It worked. Next, I decided I wanted to build something unique and portable that could hold a decent amount of amiibos without taking up too much space. I browsed the card designs but had my paper printer on loan to someone else. Initially, I envisioned creating a mini disc, but then I saw others had already done it before me. Wanting something more original, I turned to Tinkercad and started fiddling with some blocks. I found a rounded block that caught my eye, and I thought, "Hey, why not turn this into an amiibo die?" So, I worked in Tinkercad, hollowed out the core a bit, reinforced the block where needed, and cut six holes for each little token I planned to use. After creating the token, which was simply combining images in Paint, splicing them together, and making an SVG file that I then transferred into Tinkercad, I ended up printing it at .2 resolution and the block at .3 because I didn't feel like waiting over an hour for something that might need extra work. Once both were printed, I had to shave off supports from the cube and some of the outer part of the token so they would fit snugly inside. After that, I put them on my Switch and 3DS, and both worked perfectly. I encourage everyone to remix the token design and make it their own way. One cool idea I didn't think of was using different color filaments and coding the tokens by color so you can easily pick out the right one when needed. I already made a wolf link token from a stock tribal wolf head and some sketches of Wolf Link's patterns, and placed it next to my regular Link token with no issues accessing either when necessary.
