Amiga 1200 Riser Feet
prusaprinters

I have a Blizzard PPC/040 accelerator in my Amiga. The 040 gets REALLY HOT(!) when in use and so I added some active cooling to it. That helps it stay cool(er) however it means the heatsink now sticks out the bottom of the Amiga's case.

In order for the fan to be able to breath, and to keep the machine level, I made these riser feet. They are designed to go over the existing rubber feet - which are needed to help lock the riser into place. The risers are designed to be attached using only the case screws on the far left and right of the case. A small spacer needs to be printed for each and the existing screw needs to be replaced with a longer version to re-attach the case.

So far it is working okay, with the 040 going from being so hot it would burn you, to being just 'slightly to warm to touch for long' (I guess around 40-50C).

There are two versions to download. The "Smooth" has flat bottoms where you can attach any rubber feet if wanted. The "Feet" version has 11mm holes that are 0.4mm deep for easier location of some rubber feet.

Print instructions

Category: Computer
