# AMIDE Hotend Whereas the AZIDE hotend excelled at high-speed, high-temperature applications, the AMIDE hotend is engineered to excel with direct extrusion in mind. The primary objective here is to achieve a compact direct extruder setup with silent cooling and a BLTouch mount positioned as close to the nozzle as possible. I'd be misleading if I said aesthetics weren't considered during the design process, but the top priority was making it as compact as physically feasible. **BLTouch Offset:** `X-18.25 Y0` ============== **UPDATE 1** (09-03-2020) -> The BLTouch mounting point has been relocated, resulting in a Y offset of 0. -> A new cooling duct design has been implemented. -> Unnecessary material has been removed from the design. -> A STEP file is now available for download. ============== **UPDATE 2** (10-03-2020) -> The hotend has been separated into three distinct parts to facilitate easier printing. -> Excess CAD material has been removed.
