Hey Music Lovers, I've got something awesome for you all! Check out this featured "Thing of the Week" on episode #57 of my favorite podcast - http://threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com/webpage/category/Podcast! Thanks to Andy and Whitney for the love. Get ready to shred with my 3D printable modular guitar system. We know that one guitar design is never enough. On a rockin' concert, you want to look tough with your "flying crotch" design. But when practicing at home, even in an armchair, the "rock" guitar becomes a total pain. That's why I designed the perfect "ArmChair" model for everyday practice sessions. When it's time for weddings and birthday gigs, though, you'll want something a little more sophisticated. How about our classic "standard grid" design? Perfect for dressing up or keeping things casual. Either way, make sure to grab this cool guitar hanger - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:481198! Instructions: This bad boy came together using old-school electronics and hardware from a retired electric guitar. Easy swap the pick guard with a blank plate + custom hole punch parts in Blender if needed. Main body also has multiple iterations to accommodate a fixed bridge. Get drilling or print extra bridges - you know what I mean. Main body is designed for added stiffness using steel rods. Ten percent infill printing, plus rod installation, resulted in an almost dreamy sound with super-soft strings. To customize your ride height, there are even built-in neck shim plates + an additional 2-3mm wedge option - no fuss, right?
