Amethyst Ice Lantern Mold

Amethyst Ice Lantern Mold

Here's another ice lantern mold, this one an amethyst crystal inspired by Sniff from the Moomins! Creating one is a breeze: Print the mold and fill it with cold water. Use watercolors as dye. Let it freeze almost completely - outside or in the freezer. Remove the lantern from the mold. You can place a candle behind it to make it shimmer during cold winter nights! A few things to keep in mind: Using vase mode and a larger nozzle or extrusion width (0.8mm and up) is recommended to achieve water-tight molds with decent print times - or just print slightly scaled down! Don't freeze it completely solid, as you risk breaking the mold when the ice expands too much. You can use hot water to heat the mold and make separation easier.
